Bath - hotels to stay in
You won't find a nicer place in the whole of the UK to visit and enjoy the attractions. First though you'll need a hotel to stay in and here's a new website we can recommend where you'll find one. It's called www.hotels-in-bath.org.uk and it is done by the same people who did the Cheltenham version.
Very easy to use this one, and a pleasure to use for Cheltenham too. You could enjoy both town and city in one weekend using these sites, especially for lovers of classical architecture. Bath's hotels are mostly featuring the Georgian style of Robert Adam whereas Cheltenham features the later Regency style. Both places are well served with posh surroundings which reflect the service you can expect from them.
In Bath you'll find hotels amongst and featuring such architectural gems as Pulteney Bridge and the Crescent. Smartly dressed doorman will greet you and carry your luggage up the stairs (many of the hotels are forbidden to alter the historical purity of the buildings and cannot build lift shafts).
Several hotels are found outside the actual city, and are handy to use if you wish to visit attractions such as Cheddar Gorge and Westonbirt Arboretum. This latter tree collection must be seen in the Autumn when the Japanese maples take on the most resplendent of colour displays.
